Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat dies at 50

Mumbai: (news.kvartha.com 17.08.2020) Filmmaker and director Nishikant Kamat (50) has passed away. He was treated at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad for a liver ailment. AIG Hospital officials said on Monday morning that Nishikant Kamat was on ventilator support and was in critical condition.

Nishikant Kamat made his directorial debut in 2005 with the Marathi film Dombivali Fast, which won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi. She made her silver screen debut in 2004 with the Hindi film Hawa Aane De. In 2008, Kamath released her first Bollywood film, Mumbai Mary Jan, which was a huge success. Kamath has directed films like Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer Drishyam, Irrfan Khan starrer Madari, John Abraham starrer Force, and Rocky Handsome.
