Mumbai: (news.kvartha.com 03.05.2020) Special train with around 1,200 migrant workers stranded in different parts of the city following the lockdown, left for Uttar Pradesh.
The train departed from Bhiwandi in Mumbai was scheduled to leave at 9 pm on Saturday night, had delayed for several hours due to passengers screening.
At the same time, the first special train that left Nashik on Saturday morning with migrant workers reached Lucknow via Kanpur.
Following the lockdown, which came into effect on March 25, the "Shramik Special" trains, which have been launched under the guidance of the Union Home Ministry, have started functioning from saturday to return migrant workers and students stranded in different parts of the country.
