Mumbai: (news.kvartha.com 21.05.2020) A 60-year-old Covid patient died on the road at Wagle Estate in Thane district of Maharashtra. The Covid test was conducted on Monday morning following a high fever. The next day, he was taken to the Shivaji Hospital in Kalwa but denied admission due to the unavailability of beds. Then he was taken to the Thane District Hospital where he could not get admitted due to the lack of space.
Later on Wednesday, his condition worsened and a neighbor called for an ambulance. The ambulance reached after two hours without a doctor or any medical staff. At the same time, he also received his test report confirming Covid positive. Post this, among 150 to 200 people gathered at the place none came forward to help the driver to get him into the ambulance. While others watched helplessly for more than two hours patient died on the road.
