Mumbai: (news.kvartha.com 15.04.2020) Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the lockdown period would be extended to May 3, thousands of migrant workers took to the streets demanding transport to return to their hometown.
It is believed that, fake WhatsApp messages were behind the urge to take daily wage workers who lived in various slums to the streets at once. These migrant workers live in the slums of Bandra, where the rapid spread of Covid 19 disease reported, are from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.
