Mumbai: (news.kvartha.com 26.04.2020) Mumbai has reported 602 new cases the highest number of cases in a day in the country. Mumbai, the financial capital of India, recorded 5,049 cases, including 191 deaths.
Total 7628 cases reported in the state and 1076 patients have been discharged so far. Around one and a half million people are being quarantined at various locations. The total death toll in the state is 323.
Twenty-one new cases were reported yesterday in Dharavi, the largest slum in Asia. Dharavi is the most effected place in Mumbai, which covers an area of 2.1 sq km, now has two hundred and forty-one positive cases.
Last week, the state government set up a task force consisting of nine doctors to recommend measures to reduce mortality in this slum, which employs more than eight million people, and to help doctors appointed to treat critically ill patients.
