Mumbai: (news.kvartha.com 19.04.2020) Thirty-seven police personnel including 6 officers deployed for enforcing lockdown in various parts of the state have tested positive for Covid-19. While performing their duty in crowded areas and some vulnerable places, these police personnel must have come in contact with infected persons.
Since the lockdown went into effect, thousands of police officers across the state have been assigned to ensure that people comply with the ban. Mobile disinfectant vans have been issued to police in every district. But there is a significant increase in the spread of the disease among police, doctors and nurses who are at the forefront of the fight against the epidemic.
