Police raided various factories and seized sanitisers and masks worth Rs. 27 lakhs. The raids were carried out in different parts of the city following various complaints of excessive charging of essential commodities.
The raids were conducted in two factories in suburban districts of Mumbai and another in Kandivali, the sources said.
The sales of these products have been on the black market since the coronavirus spread across the state with severe shortages of sanitisers and masks.
Police have arrested five people, including a shopkeeper who were selling these items at a high price in a medical store in Malad.
