Delhi : Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has stirred up a storm with his recent allegations in the Delhi Assembly, claiming that Gujarat has become the epicentre of India's drug trade. Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Dissolved by Chandrababu Naidu Government

Amaravati: The Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has dissolved the state Waqf Board. This decision comes after the government overturned a previous order by the YSR Congress government that had appointed members to the board in October 2023. Following a High Court order, the then YSR Congress government had constituted an 11-member Waqf Board, with three members elected and the remaining nominated. However, a petition challenging the formation process led to the Andhra Pradesh High Court staying the election of the Waqf Board chairperson in November 2023. The board remained inactive for a long time due to the uncertainty surrounding the chairperson's election. In Maharashtra, lockdown restrictions will be eased from August 1

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who has been caught in the middle of the Lalit Modi controversy, on Friday cancelled her visit to Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, where she was supposed to share stage with BJP president Amit Shah and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. "Due to back pain, the Chief Minster's doctor has advised her to take rest so she has cancelled her visit to Punjab today," Raje's press advisor said. This development comes at a time when speculation has raged over whether the BJP leadership would discuss with her the issue of her continuance in the wake of damaging disclosures that she had allegedly signed a secret witness document favouring Lalit Modi's immigration plea in a London court. NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expelled veteran MP and senior politician, lawyer Ram Jethmalani from the primary membership of party for six years, the matter as cited as "breach of discipline". In a letter to Jethmalani, BJP general secretary Ananth Kumar on Tuesday said the party's parliamentary board had taken a unanimous decision on Monday to expel him from membership of the party. "The central parliamentary board after considering all your replies, responses and letters was of the unanimous opinion that you have indulged in a breach of discipline. The parliamentary board, therefore, decided to expel you for a period of six years from the primary membership of the Party," the letter stated.
