The continuing remand of Ma’adani without bail is a burning injustice, says Kanthapuram AP Abubacker Musliyar
In a petition submitted to Siddaramaiah,CM of Karnataka,Kanthapuram appealed for a fair trial and immediate bail if not proven guilty.
Bengaluru: Kanthapuram A.P Abubacker Musliyar, the General Secretary of All India Sunni Scholars Organization has said that the continuing remand of Abdulnasar Ma’adani, a Muslim Preacher from Kerala and chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), without being granted bail is a case of growing concern for many reasons and a burning injustice. It was in a petition submitted to the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah in the previous day in Bengaluru that Kanthapuram expressed his concern over six years long detention of Abdul Nasar Maadani at Parappana Agrahara jail, as one charge sheeted for 2008 Bengaluru blast case.

He pointed out that ‘the demand of all fair minded people is that Ma’adani is ensured of a proper trial and justice be delivered in this case at the earliest. The repeated postponement and infinitely lagging trial process will only add suspicion to the fairness of the ongoing judicial processes’. Kanthapuram added that things seem to be more critical when he is suffering from serious health issues and his physical condition is in fast deteriorating. Also Ma’adani ought to be given a fair trial and as a preliminary confidence measure he should be granted immediate bail in the case under consideration.
The petition was handed over through UT Khader, the minister for Food and Public Distribution in Karnataka. Earlier, on December 2012, Kanthapuram had called on then Chief Minister Jagadeesh Shettar and home minister R Ashok, to draw their attention through a memorandum he submitted to them in the same respect.
