TamilNadu Agricultural Department officials visited CPCRI

KASARGOD: Dr. M. Rajendaran IAS, Director of Agriculture, Tamilnadu along with a team of officers and farmers visited CPCRI Kasaragod. The team interacted with the scientists of CPCRI on the new technology developed at CPCRI on Production of NEERA.

The team visited Coconut Processing complex at the Institute and saw the demonstration of the production of value added products such as coconut chips, virgin coconut oil, snowball tender nut etc. NEERA collection device developed at CPCRI was demonstrated in the field for the visiting team. The team also discussed with the Director and scientists of CPCRI on collaborative programmes to be organised for disseminating improved production and processing technology in coconut.

In the interactive session it was decided to organise scientists-extension-farmer interface programme on coconut, arecanut and cocoa production technologies in different parts of Tamilnadu. Technical support from CPCRI will be utilised for the management of Rootwilt disease in coconut.

The team of scientists of CPCRI lead by Dr. K. Muralidharan participated in the interaction session.
