Pathanamthitta: In a distressing incident, A.T. Satheesh, the former personal assistant to MLA Raju Abraham, lost a staggering Rs 7 lakh after his mobile phone was hacked. The incident took place in Ranni, Kerala. Satheesh's Union Bank of India account was targeted by cybercriminals who managed to siphon off the money in multiple transactions. Despite being alerted to suspicious activity, Satheesh initially dismissed the messages as they arrived while he was driving. Investigations revealed that the hackers had gained access to Satheesh's WhatsApp account a week prior to the financial heist. They created a fraudulent WhatsApp group impersonating the bank and added Satheesh as a member.
