4,777 new cases and 5,217 recoveries today, total 61,393 active cases; 51,893 sample tests in the last 24 hours
Thiruvananthapuram: (news.kvartha.com 06.12.2020) 4,777 new Covid cases were confirmed in Kerala while 5,217 patients have recovered from the disease. 4,120 persons including 39 healthcare workers were infected through contact and the source of infection for 534 was unknown. In the meantime, 28 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid and the related death toll is now 2,418.
The district-wise figures for those who tested positive today for Coronavirus are Malappuram 664, Kozhikode 561, Thrissur 476, Ernakulam 474, Kottayam 387, Kollam 380, Thiruvananthapuram 345, Palakkad 341, Alappuzha 272, Kannur 223, Wayanad 213, Pathanamthitta 197, Idukki 169 and Kasaragod 75. Today, 84 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state.
The count of the locally transmitted cases in the districts are Malappuram 623, Kozhikode 534, Thrissur 461, Ernakulam 360, Kottayam 386, Kollam 378, Thiruvananthapuram 204, Palakkad 178, Alappuzha 256, Kannur 176, Wayanad 201, Pathanamthitta 146, Idukki 145 and Kasargod 72.
The tally of the infected healthcare personnel from the districts are Thiruvananthapuram & Kozhikode 6 each, Kannur 5; Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur & Wayanad 4 each, Pathanamthitta & Palakkad 2 each, and Kottayam & Malappuram 1 each.
The district-wise numbers of the patients who test results were negative today are Thiruvananthapuram 377, Kollam 336, Pathanamthitta 172, Alappuzha 468, Kottayam 613, Idukki 64, Ernakulam 685, Thrissur 270, Palakkad 397, Malappuram 852, Kozhikode 599, Wayanad 80, Kannur 197 and Kasargod 107.
So far, 5,72,911 people have recovered from Covid in the state and at present, there are 60,924 patients undergoing treatment for the disease.
There are currently 3,14,400 persons under observation in various districts of the state - 2,99,469 are under home / institutional quarantine and 14,931 in hospitals. 1,643 people were admitted to the hospitals today.
One place each in Idukki, Ernakulam and Palakkad districts (total three) were declared as hotspots today with one exemption. There are now 446 hotspots in Kerala.
51,893 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate is 9.21%. A total of 66,08,606 samples have so far been sent for testing.
